CERTIFICATED RETIREES (Age 65+) Early Retiree medical benefits end the first of the month the retiree turns 65 or upon Medicare eligibility. The District Fringe of $6,150 continues through the end of the school year you turn 65. If you decide to continue coverage under one of the District’s Medicare Group Plans, you will need to complete appropriate enrollment forms. A copy of your Medicare Card showing enrollment in Part A and Part B is required by the first of the month you turn 65. You can also continue your dental and life insurance plan. There is no post-65 vision plan available. The vision plan will end on the first of the month you turn 65.
